Sustainability

Out of concern for the natural environment we developed a line of products made from compostable materials rather than fossil fuels.

PLA

PLA (polylactide) is a completely biodegradable plastic produced from corn. Products made from PLA have the properties of traditional plastics, while decomposing in the biodegradation process instead of staying in the environment for hundreds of years. PLA can be processed with the same methods as traditional thermoplastics. Products made from PLA are partially transparent, have a slight straw color and their mechanical properties are similar to those made of thermoplastics. PLA can also be dyed to any color during processing.

PLA BIODEGRADATION

PLA biodegrades in an aqueous environment and the decomposition products formed in this process penetrate into the surrounding environment, where they are then metabolized by microorganisms to carbon dioxide and water.

Microorganisms capable of degrading PLA do not occur in the environment where plastic parts made of PLA are used. This ensures the durability of the products when used in a normal environment, such as on a store shelf.

In the right environment and conditions of high temperature of 50-60 °C and high humidity, PLA decomposes within 45-60 days. Traditional thermoplastics take hundreds of years for this process.

THERMOPLASTIC CELLULOSE

In recent years, cellulose-based plastics have been developed. They are characterized by a negative balance of CO2 emissions in the production process and properties similar to those of traditional thermoplastics. They can be transparent and have high resistance to weather conditions. They are not biodegradable, but they are treated as “thermoplastic paper”.
